Craniosacral Therapy in San Miguel de Allende
A Gentle Conversation with Your Nervous System
Your body carries its history.
Tension, pain, and the residue of old emotions settle deep in the tissues, often beyond the reach of words.
Craniosacral Therapy (CST) works at this quiet level — with a light, listening touch — to help your system find its way back to ease.
I’m Christina Johnson. I’ve been in the healing arts for over 30 years, and San Miguel de Allende has been my home since 2013. Here, I weave together craniosacral therapy, trauma expertise, and a holistic approach that meets each person exactly where they are. A session isn’t a mechanical fix. It’s a respectful dialogue with your nervous system, one that invites your body’s own intelligence to come forward.
People often leave feeling more comfortable, more confident, and truly at home in themselves.
Curious about this same gentle work for your horse?
“Craniosacral is more than physical adjustment; it’s a gentle conversation with the nervous system. I facilitate a state of deep relaxation, allowing the body’s innate wisdom to find its natural balance. The result is a more comfortable, confident, and connected person.”
— Christina Johnson, LPC, Craniosacral Therapist
What is Visionary Craniosacral Therapy?
Craniosacral therapy grew from Cranial Osteopathy, introduced in the 1930s by American osteopath William Garner Sutherland. The work attends to the subtle, rhythmic motion of the cerebrospinal fluid, the 22 bones of the head, the vertebrae and sacrum, the central nervous system, and the membranes surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
My training spans several schools: I began with the Upledger Institute, deepened my practice at the Milne Institute of Visionary Craniosacral, and studied Biodynamic Craniosacral with Georgia Milne. This background shapes what I call a visionary approach, one that holds four things in equal regard:
Perceiving the whole of your anatomy and physiology.
Noticing the parts that have drifted out of concert with the whole.
Witnessing your inner spiritual journey, emotional state, and energy — without judgment.
Remaining aware of my own spiritual journey, emotions, and energy — also without judgment.
In this way, a session becomes an honest meeting of two whole human beings, and healing can happen on many levels at once.
What Clients Often Share
After sessions, I regularly hear:
A more relaxed, youthful look to the face
A deep sense of relaxation that stays for days
Back, hip, or neck pain that quiets or disappears
Jaw tension and teeth grinding stopping on their own
Chronic headaches and migraines falling away
Better immune function and a lighter response to stress
Beneath those physical changes, many find a renewed clarity, an emotional lightness, and the feeling of finally being at home in their skin.
Love from my clients
“I have been blessed to know Christina Johnson since 1999. Several times over the intervening years she has performed what must be miracles in aligning my skeleton to relieve the terrible pain of a jammed spine – instantly, with only one treatment session each time. She has aligned my jaw to correct a cross bite and re-established the nerve connections on the left side of my face when dental surgery complications caused pro-longed numbness and swelling that had gone on for more than six months.
Christina used EMDR to give me back my life when the crippling grief over my son’s death, in 2002, had me emotionally and physically paralyzed. There are not strong enough words of praise in our language to express my appreciation for Christina’s care and assistance in my life’s problems.”

Craniosacral Work Alongside EMDR Therapy
For people already working through trauma with EMDR, craniosacral therapy makes a steady companion. Trauma lives in the body — in tight muscles, in breath that’s never quite full, in a nervous system braced for threat. EMDR helps the brain reprocess stuck memories; craniosacral work gently unwinds the physical layers that go with them.
When I combine these two approaches, I tend to see people move through their healing with more ease. The body becomes a source of support. The safety and regulation built in craniosacral sessions can deepen what EMDR makes possible, and the shifts that happen cognitively in EMDR land more fully in a body that’s been prepared to receive them.

What to Expect in a Session
You’ll lie down fully clothed on a comfortable table. My touch is light — about the weight of a coin — and there’s no forceful manipulation. We begin by establishing safety, and from there your body’s wisdom takes the lead. Some sessions feel still and quiet; others include gentle, spontaneous unwinding as tissues release. Most people rise feeling as if they’ve had a deep, healing rest.
We always start with a free phone consultation to discuss your needs. After that, sessions are tailored to you and what your body is ready for.
