Tangoyo at Casa Sueño Azul in Los Frailes, SMA
Tango, Yoga & the Art of Presence
I invite you to delight in the grace and strength of your own body — just as it is. To applaud your ability to balance. To enjoy real connection with others, and to step into the sensual, grounded experience of tango. That’s what Tangoyo is all about.
Tangoyo resumes July 2 at 4:00 PM.
This class is a blend of tango, yoga, barre exercises, mindfulness, and conscious breath. For the past several years I called it Tango Therapy. Now it carries the name Tangoyo, and it’s exactly what it sounds like — the stretch and stillness of yoga brought together with the vibrant music and embrace of Argentine tango.
We’ll use the barre to build elasticity and strength, then move into beginning tango steps while exploring the orchestras and rhythms that make tango so rich. Through it all, we come back to presence.
Tango teaches far more than steps. It teaches trust, resilience, humility, acceptance, courage, and the deep quiet that comes when you’re truly listening — to the music, to your partner, to yourself.

A Little More About the Space
Casa Sueño Azul is my private event house and dance salon, built with dancers in mind. The rooftop has a Peruvian wood floor — smooth and responsive — and I ask that you wear leather-soled dance shoes, soft sneakers, or gentle shoes. The indoor studio is air-conditioned and welcoming, with a tile floor for barre work and movement.
Why Tangoyo?
If you love the way yoga helps you breathe, balance, and be still — but you also crave vibrant music, a bit of brain challenge, and the pleasure of dancing with another person — this class might feel like it was made for you. It’s a practice that meets the body where it is and invites it into play.
