The Sip with Jack Armstrong (Ep. 4)

In this episode of the Pan de Dios podcast...

my cousin Jack Armstrong sits down with me to talk about his dad. Jack’s dad was one of my favorite people in the world. And the story he shared? It got me.

It happened in the woods of Mississippi, a long time ago. A jar was passed. A sip was taken. And something shifted.

I’m not going to tell you the whole thing here. Some stories are better heard in a voice, with all the pauses and the tears and the sweetness in between. But I will say this: Jack’s dad grew up in a time and place where certain rules were carved in stone. And yet, racism never computed for him. It just didn’t make sense.

One small, quiet gesture left his best friend stunned. And thinking. Thinking so much that it changed the direction of a life.

Jack also shares a sweet memory about his parents’ first date—and what his mom learned about love that day.

I cried. Jack cried. And I think you’ll feel something too.

Come listen with me.
